Banner Advertising Basics For Fun And Profit

Proceeding without knowledge will severely handicap you, and you’ll make mistakes even with the right knowledge. Costly mistakes is never fun for any business person, and that is usually the price you’ll pay with mistakes doing banner advertising. Never be afraid to make mistakes because years from now you’ll still make one here and there. However many mistakes are avoidable such as making sure you do proper research before your campaign. We want to highlight three common mistakes often seen in banner advertising; as well as what you can do to avoid them.

It is not how pretty the ad is, or the slick graphics that produce high converting banner ads. Well, it’s true that having a good banner will attract attention, but it’s also important to have a call to action on your banner so that people know what they should do next. Something like, “Find Out More,” or “Click Here Now” work just fine. If this is something you have omitted in the past, then be sure to include it from here on out. You’ll also need to know that your landing page, or site, must have some graphical resemblance to each other. Your conversions will decrease if there is a large difference between the two. You want to be and appear to be consistent because people associate that with integrity, trust, etc.

Avoid being cute and nonsensical because people don’t like that or care. You want to carry the conversation from the banner onto your landing page or site.

You do not want to attract curiosity seekers with irrelevant banners. If you have ever seen a ‘shoot the whatever’ banner, then you know what we’re talking about. You want to be serious and get their attention, and then tell them what you have for them. We do know people in business who seem to have a closed mind when it comes to something new such as a method for marketing or advertising, and they are leaving a lot of money behind as a result. One thing we know is that some we know were skeptical about banner generator until they seriously tested it and saw the results. It is usually the beginners who can sometimes easily be deceived, and so if you are new to this then look around and do some additional reading.

But the thing is, once you have been burned a few times you start to wake up. Actually, one very smart move for newbies is to buy slow and do a lot of reading and asking questions, if possible, about whatever it is. The thing about this is it is totally understandable for beginners to IM to have this kind of unfortunate luck. Chances are you will know about the most common marketing methods, but there are some that are not as well-known yet they are effective, too. It is just like locking your car every time you park it, maybe it will never prevent something but one day years from now it could. Banner advertising still works like gangbusters, but the only way to experience that is to become knowledgeable.
